Though the Vision Tarry…It Will Surely Come❗️
Have you ever gotten a little tingle in your belly when a great idea “just popped” into your head⁉️Were you up in the middle of the night thinking about IT⁉️ Did you get up early and think about ITsome more⁉️ Were you thinking about IT throughout the entire day and couldn’t really sleep well that night because you were still thinking about IT⁉️ Welp, that was me a few years ago. My body wasn’t healthy, I was exhausted, unfulfilled, and stuck; definitely feeling the urge to expand, exponentially beyond my circumstances. Also, in an effort to learn how to heal my own body after years of doctors, specialists, and surgeries (that didn’t work); I began engrossing myself in classes about indigenous spirituality, holistic health, nutrition and traveling internationally to experience some of these concepts for myself.
I became intrigued with how holistic/functional approaches more naturally help the body heal on its own, the way it was designed. I loved that fact that Functional Medicine sought to find out why (root cause) we have an issue versus the traditional what Western Medicine approach that we’ve all become accustomed to – one-size fits all medicine and surgery. Though sometimes on information-overload, I was inhaling info on:
🌺The Microbiome and how ALL disease begins in the gut (yep, even cancer, MS, lupus, arthritis, ADHD, Autism, and Alzheimer’s, etc.) and how to potentially prevent and reverse it.
☄️Epigenetics, how what you eat, where you live, who you interact with, when you sleep, how you exercise and age eventually cause the genes the genes to turn on or off over time.
🌼How organic, whole, live food IS the medicine❗️
🌳The importance of detoxification – beyond a 5-day, green juice fast.😉
🌀The healing properties of essential oils, herbs, and spices.
💦Stem cell replacement therapy success stories.
☯️ The dangers of wifi (electromagnetic frequency) and the toxic environment on our bodies.
I was studying these “lessons” morning, noon, and night; in the shower, in the car, while doing chores. I know, I know…have your eyes glazed over yet?!😳 I’ll flesh this mumbo-jumbo out in future posts; but basically, I was angered that this life-saving information wasn’t more widely available to every human being, regardless of race, class, or perceived socio-economic status.
At the same time, my fabulous, keep-me-up-at-night specific idea kept coming to my mind, and I could not shake it. I shared my idea with my sister-friend, and confidante, Anisha, and not only did she totally get it, she was totally on board to help me bring it to fruition! And just like that, right there at her dining room table, The Goddess Awakening & Healing Summit was born!

We started designing our social platforms, collateral, URL, and logo. In less than a week, all five of the speakers, a diverse group of powerful, intentional and unapologetic, black women, who I called “The Dream Team” – said YES to being on the panel! Our intention was to have “The Dream Team” share mind-shifting, information on how women could recognize themselves as Goddesses, Awaken from the fog and pressures of society and Heal themselves; which in turn would bring healing to their families for generations to come! I wanted them to experience the transformation that was (is) taking place in my life.
Everything was moving right along and we even shot ❗️👉🏽THIS INFOMERCIAL👈🏽❗️in September 2016, in anticipation of the launch.

As we know, The Creator’s timing is divine and, while we had the energy, vision, and excitement, small road-blocks delayed the launch – up until NOW❗️ As soon as I stopped fighting my passion, quieted my spirit to discover and clarify my purpose. Recognized then harnessed the power that was already inside me from birth, realized I needed validation from absolutely no one; the vision came back but this time fully-fleshed out and with the resources to take it to the next level!
And just like that, The Goddess Awakening & Healing Sanctuary, LLC was reborn, reframed and re-envisioned! I am even becoming certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the largest nutrition school in the world! Anisha was so excited to see “our baby” still growing, she passed me the baton to move the vision forward! As a coach, I will show other powerful black women who feel exhausted, sick and unfulfilled how to unapologetically transform into their most authentic and healthy selves, in a safe space.
::❗️BOTTOM LINE❗️:: Don’t give up❗️ Don’t let your dreams die❗️ The Creator usually has a doper plan then your original one❗️
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end, it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. – Habakkuk 2:3
