Thank you, Eurica Huggins-Axum from the ADACI – African Diaspora Ancestral Commemoration Institute for flowing with me The Sanctuary.
🔴We talked about the practical ways we can honor our Ancestors lost in the Maafa.
➨ Def: (pronounced Mah- AH-fah) is a Kiswahili word which gives definition to the catastrophic event experienced by millions of African people during the middle passage journey from Africa bound for enslavement in the Americas. The word MAAFA is the concept of Dr. Marimba Ani, African-American scholar and author.
⚫️We learned more about the upcoming River Walk and Spiritual Healing Ceremony taking place every year in June at UNION TEMPLE Baptist Church in D.C., Detroit, Nigeria, Senegal, and Brazil and other national sites.
💚Euri shared more about how to create sacred spaces for our ancestors including alters or by saying a prayer in your heart giving thanks to the Ancestors.
