If you are like me, you are amazed that we are already into the first few days of September! Saturday, September 22nd marks the official first day of fall aka the Autumn Equinox. An Equinox happens when the sun shines directly on the equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal. It’s a great time to rest, reflect and go within, to honor this auspicious time and celebrate the sacredness of hibernation and introspection.
Admittedly, though I’m a fall baby (Scorpios Rock!), I never liked the fall. My mood became more somber and blah the colder and darker it became. I was actually “diagnosed” with Seasonal Affected Disorder “SAD” in the fourth grade. SAD is a condition of depression that is related to a lack of light during dark months. (source) In recent years, I have learned a few hacks to help me navigate and actually enjoy the season.
After sharing my feelings about the season with two other amazing Goddesses, Kat (BlackMagickWoman) & Candace (Sacred Body Work), we formed The Sacred Goddess Collective to present An Autumn Equinox Gathering! This Goddess Gathering will be an amazing experience with other dope sisters, warming foods, tips to move into the season with ease, libations, a marketplace, and a sacred fire will be lit for offerings AND…wait for it…s’mores – yay for s’mores! Space is limited so click the pic to get your ticket – stat!
