After surgery and a hospitalization nightmare three weeks ago damn near took me out, I told myself once I got out of that hospital bed, I was going to live my life more loudly, lavishly, and lit!
Don’t get me wrong, my life is already full of freakin’ awesome family and friends, projects, and just plain fun, but there is much more to experience and enjoy. If you read my book, From Jersey To Me: The Awakening & Healing of a Goddess, you will remember that I was adopted and traced my maternal ancestry to the #Mafa people of #Cameroon and my paternal side to the #Temne people of #SierraLeone on my paternal side. In October 2015, I even visited Cameroon! Now, the journey of self-discovery continues, in two weeks, as I travel on the inaugural African Ancestry Family Reunion trip to Sierra Leone! We will take naturalization classes to learn about the culture, people, history, government, and more! We will also celebrate Sierra Leone’s 60th Independence Day from Great Britain on April 27.
How dope is that? I am super excited to see what is next on this journey!
Follow along as it unfolds right here…Stay tuned!
