DESCRIPTION:The Awaken & Heal Celebration Book Tour was filled with mad love! We continued with the Valentine’s Day theme and expanded it to a self-love fest! \nDay One: The Family & Friends Edition\nHosted by my gracious family\, the Family & Friends edition included food\, laughter\, and easy-breezy fun! It was a great way to connect both sides of my family for the first time. \nDay Two: The Self-Love Fest\nThe backdrop for day two was the beautiful blk Temple. The vibe was perfect as friends\, former colleagues and family filled the space and learned how to approach their wellness using a mind\, body\, and spirit approach. Tips included: \n\nThe importance of being intentional about touching and making eye contact with other human beings since we have a tendency to rely on our technology to communicate.\nTaking the time to allow our intuition to guide us as we make decisions and to learn that no is a complete sentence.\nThat ancestor veneration is important and supports our decision making and that creating an altar in our home is healing.\nListen Altars: Honoring our Ancestors HERE on The Sanctuary Radio Show.

DESCRIPTION:The Association for the Study of African American Life and History author’s event was great. More than 1\,000 attendees filled the Renaissance Hotel\,  this year’s theme was African Americans and the Vote. The awardee of the Living Legacy Award was Dr. Lonnie Bunch and they introduced the recent Black Heritage Stamp\, featuring Soror Gwen Ifill.
